Travelling around Europe

In our Geography lessons this term, Year 4 have been learning about Europe. Our fun Maths lesson today combined geography skills with Maths. Each child in the class flew to different capital cities in Europe. The pupils then had to use an Atlas to discover which country they flew to as well as finding out the distance that they travelled.

For example,

Francesca flies from London to Madrid (785 miles) then from Madrid to Oslo (1,484 miles). How far has she travelled?

Ryan flies from London to Sofia (1,252 miles) then from Sofia to Dublin (1,546 miles). How far has he travelled?

Alexander said "The lesson was fun as we got to discover different countries in Europe and their capital city". Keeley and Merkhima thought the lesson was "interesting and adventurous!"
