Dear Parents and Carers,
Food Bank Donations
We are delighted to be supporting the local food bank and will be collecting donations throughout the summer term. Donations will be collected each Friday. If you are able to donate any items (no beans please) you will be able to drop off at the School Office or send in with your child. All donations will be gratefully received.
Parent Partnership Morning
Thank you to those who joined us for the Parent Partnership Morning on Wednesday to speak about Homework and Uniform. In addition to discussing Homework and Uniform we also shared details of our new updated website which now holds additional information about each Year Group and the whole school. Please do have a look https://mead.havering.sch.uk/ and let us know if there is any information that you would like us to add. We have created a document (attached) to share the questions and information shared for those who were unable to attend. Our next meeting will be on Thursday 30th June @9am with the focus being Understanding Special Educational Needs which will also be supported by our schools Local Authority Educational Psychologist.
Uniform
As you are aware, our school Uniform Policy has a phased introduction due the colour changes of some of the items of clothing. Children should still wear full school uniforms to school. Leggings and cycling shorts are not permitted. Please also ensure that jewellery and nail varnish are removed
Jubilee Celebrations
On Friday children should come to school wearing Red, White and Blue to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
School Holiday Meal Scheme
With funding from the Household Support Fund, Havering Local Authority will continue the School Holiday Meal Scheme for the May 2022 half-term school break. The scheme allows eligible families to receive £15 per child to purchase food over the holiday period to replace the meals a child would have received during a school day helping us ensure no child goes hungry during the upcoming school holiday period. Please note that we issue this amount via a bank transfer and do not issue meal vouchers as part of the scheme. You do not need to reapply if you have received money via the scheme previously.
