Year 1 meet a real life superhero!
Year 1's current topic is superheroes and the children have been learning about both fictional and real life superheroes. This afternoon they received a visit from real life superhero PC Wayne. He explained the role of a police officer and said that being a police officer is not just about arresting people but is also about keeping people safe. PC Wayne then showed the children a selection of hats worn by different police officers. He also showed them what he carries in his stab-proof vest and explained what each item is used for. The children asked some excellent questions, such as "how did you become a policeman?". They were thoroughly enthralled and sat beautifully throughout.
After PC Wayne had left some of the children claimed that they want to be a police officer when they grow up.
Thank you PC Wayne for coming to visit us.
