Weekly Newsletter - 02/02/24

Dear Parents and Carers,

Attendance

Can we take this opportunity to say a huge well done to our children and parents alike for such an improvement in our overall attendance this week. And also to highlight a much improved punctuality rate. With the implementation of our new morning procedure of taking late children to gate 3, we have seen such a positive impact and we would like to thank you all for working so effectively with us to achieve this. The children are able to start their school day far better prepared for their learning and education. Once again a huge well done from us all in school. Let's keep it up!

Parents Evening

We are looking forward to seeing you on Tuesday 6th February and Wednesday 7th February for Parents Evening. Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and 2 will be in the infant hall and Year 3, 4, 5 and 6 will take place in the Dining Hall. You can access these areas through the KS1 gate or Gate 2 (breakfast/after school club entrance). The KS2 playground will be locked.

Children’s Mental Health Week

Children’s Mental Health Week will take place from 5-11 February 2024. The theme this year is ‘My Voice Matters’. As parents and carers, you play an important role in your child’s mental health. This year, we want to empower children of all ages, backgrounds and abilities to work together to create a positive change for their mental health and wellbeing. Our aim is for Children’s Mental Health Week, we want all children and young people to be able to say – and believe - “My Voice Matters.” Families, parents and carers can get involved too! Download our resources so you can take part at home.

World Book Day

As part of our drive to maintain, promote and engage pupil interest in reading, the school is taking part in WORLD BOOK day on Thursday 7th March. Children are asked to come into school dressed as their favourite book character. You can join us in building your child’s enthusiasm for books well beyond World Book Day by reading together regularly and joining your local library if you are not yet a member. For more information about World Book Day, ideas for World Book Day costumes and ideas on sharing books at home, visit worldbookday.com.

Stay and Learn

We will be adding new dates to our Stay and Learn sessions, for each year group, in the next week. We hope you will be able to join us.
