Today, Singapore class had to find the mean (average) of a set of numbers in their Maths lesson. For one of the activities they had to answer this question: What is the mean shoe size in Singapore class?
They had to find out the shoe size of each member of our class and then use this to find the mean. They found out that the mean shoe size was 5.
Then they had to find out the mean number of words on a page in a selection of novel and non-fiction books. They found out that the mean number of words in these novels was 112 words per page but in a non-fiction book it is only 64 words.
