Return of Forest School!!

Forest school is back and with a new group of enthusiastic children! Lets see what they have been getting up to!

Week 1:
Everyone was super keen to get outside and explore today. There was pancake making in the mud kitchen, climbing and hanging from branches in trees, discovering ants under a large rock. We made forest school necklaces, discovered how many people were needed to move large logs, found animal holes and generally had a good time. Lots to look forward to in the weeks ahead!!

Week 2:
We had lots of excited children today! Nathanuel saw the rope and straight away started attempting to throw it over a branch. He was soon joined by others as they worked on making a rope swing. We looked out for strong and safe branches to hang a rope swing from and by the end of the session, we had 2 rope swings up and working. Lots of fun and sharing as many within the group joined in. Other children created woodland pictures, chilled in the hammock and played hide and seek.

Week 3:
Today saw the children getting busy all around the forest. We had bark rubbing with chalk, creating ground pictures using various colours and lots of mud for creations. The ropes were popular today and many attempted to make dens separately and in groups. Some were more successful than others but many lessons were learnt and improvements made along the way. Ropes were also used to set a laser trail which the children enjoyed negotiating.
