Last week Madagascar and Kenya visited the local fire station as part of our history work. Egypt will be going this Thursday. The children had great fun finding out what it is like to be a firefighter now and they have been comparing this with what life was like during the time of The Great Fire of London in 1666.
They looked around the station and found out what the firefighters wear when they are on duty. They saw all the equipment on the fire engine and they were able to actually spray the hose.
Great fun was had by all !
"When I grow up I would like to be a firefighter" said Tristan.
