Sorry for any confusion at the end of the day.
I was contacted by the police who had received calls alleging someone was in the playground with a weapon and to let me know they would be in attendance.
I felt the priority was to keep everyone safe, which is why I asked those of you in the playground to come into school.
The police officers arrived, apprehended and searched the suspect and no weapon was found. It was then deemed safe for those in school to go home.
I apologise if this caused any distress or inconvenience but want to assure you I acted in the best interest of all our families -our common goal is always to safeguard our children.
