Dear parents and Carers,
This week, we received some wonderful feedback from the team at The Windmill, which was visited by our Year 4 classes. They praised our children for being engaged, respectful, and well-mannered throughout the visit—well done, Year 4!
Our Year 5 and 6 Tag Rugby teams also had a fantastic week, competing in a tournament and emerging victorious! They will now move on to the final competition next week—good luck to all involved!
Additionally, we were pleased to meet with Reverend Richard Power from St. Paul’s Church on Petersfield Avenue. Reverend Richard will be visiting school more regularly and delivering assemblies based on Bible stories, linking them to our Mead Creed. We look forward to welcoming him into our school community.
A huge well done to our 5 Science Fair winners. All children who entered did a fantastic job and we cannot wait for more events like this in the future.
Waste Management Legislation – Important Changes
New waste management legislation comes into force on 31st March, requiring us to make changes to our current provision, including the addition of extra bins. To help children understand the new system, we will be holding a special assembly on Monday to explain the changes. One key change affects packed lunches—children who bring a packed lunch will now bring home their leftover food and wrappers. This will help you see what they have eaten while also supporting our efforts to streamline recycling in school, this will take effect from Monday 24th March.
Scooter & Bike Reminder
We have had a number of reports from children that their scooters have gone missing at the end of the school day. Please remember that scooters and bikes are left on school grounds at your own risk.
There have been instances where parents have accidentally taken a similar-looking scooter home, only to return it later. If your child’s scooter or bike is missing, please check if another has been left behind and let the office know. To help prevent mix-ups, we strongly encourage labeling scooters and bikes with your child’s name.
Easter Bonnet Parade & Egg Decoration Competition – Friday 4th April 2025 🐣
On Friday 4th April we will be holding a special Easter eggstravaganza. All children are invited to come into school with a decorated Easter Bonnet. We will then have a whole school Easter Bonnet Parade outside in the KS1 playground so that everyone can see their wonderful bonnets.
Easter egg decoration competition
We will also be holding an Easter egg decoration competition. All entries must have a name and class. Eggs come in on the morning of the 4th of April and then they can go into the exhibitions in KS1 and 2 halls and prizes will be awarded after lunch.
Prizes will be awarded in the following categories:
⭐ Funniest Egg (EYFS, KS1, KS2)
⭐ Best Character/Celebrity Lookalike Egg (EYFS, KS1, KS2)
⭐ Mead Egg (EYFS, KS1, KS2)
Entry Fee: 50p per decorated egg – proceeds will go towards purchasing playground equipment.

Easter Year Group Raffle – Reminder
Our Easter Year Group Raffle is taking place soon!
Entry Cost: 50p per entry (maximum of 3 entries per child)
Prizes: Each year group will have 1 large, 1 medium, and 1 small Easter egg to win!
How to Enter: Children can bring their money in an envelope and give it to their class teacher from Monday, 24th March.
Raffle Draw: Winners will be announced on Friday, 4th April.

All children will have the opportunity to choose from a selection of gifts during the school day. Please ensure any money is placed in an envelope or wallet that your child can easily access.
