In Science, Year 1 are learning about the 5 senses. Last week we explored the sense of sight and took part in an investigation into how hard it is to carry out an activity when we can/can not see. We took turns to throw bean bags into a bucket and we did this 3 times. The first time we had our eyes fully open so we could see well. The second time we either covered or shut 1 eye. We could still see, but not as well. The final time, we either closed or covered both eyes so we could not see at all. We kept a tally of the results and concluded that we use our eyes every day to see and do things and how it is is very difficult to carry out activities when we can't see.
