As part of our continued work on the 5 senses, we have been focusing on the sense of sound. We explored making loud sounds and quiet sounds on the instruments and played a game where we took turns to wear a blindfold whilst a friend played one of the instruments. We had to identify the instrument played and play it back in the same way, i.e. loudly or quietly. It was harder than we thought it would be, especially when the instrument was played quietly. We concluded that loud sounds are easy to hear and identify whereas when sounds are quiet, they are much harder to hear.
