Welcome back to the Summer term! As always the children have settled back into their routine and have hit the ground running with their learning. We are really happy to welcome the new Year 2 and Year 4 children and their families into our school community this week.
You will find at the end of the newsletter that we have added more dates for the Summer term for your information. Summer Uniform
The weather this week has been as unpredictable as it always is. The children are able to wear their Summer Uniforms from this term but due to the continual change in weather please also provide a jacket or coat for the children to wear outside as there are times when it becomes quite chilly. Please also note that leggings and cycling shorts are not part of the Summer Uniform and should not be worn. All shoes should have a closed toe as this is a potential trip hazard.
Scooters
We are delighted to see so many children travelling to school by scooter or bikes and we are looking into ways to accommodate more bikes and scooters at the Infant entrance (Gate 3). We have noticed this week that there are more children at the end of the school day using their scooters in the playground, Due to the number of children and adults on the premises at this time it is not safe for the children to be riding scooters in the playground and we kindly ask that you wait until you have left the playground. Thank you very much for your understanding.
End of Day Collection Procedure
If there is a change to the person who is collecting your child at the end of the school day, please make sure that you let the office or class teacher know. Even if we know the person collecting please make sure that you make us aware of this change. If we are not aware or a member of staff has not received a message we will call you before letting the children go with the adult. This is part of our safeguarding procedures and is in place to ensure the safety of all of the children.
