Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome back to the first half term of the new school year! It has been a very hot and busy three days for the children as they settle back into the routines. Thank you to you all for supporting the changes that have been made. All changes to the start and end of the day are to ensure the safety of the children and the school site and we really appreciate your patience and understanding as we get used to the new norm.
Attendance and punctuality has been brilliant this week and we are hopeful that this will continue as we work to improve our overall attendance throughout the year. Well done everyone. Please make sure that you inform the school when there are any absences.
We have made some changes in school to our Mead Creed which is used around school by the children and the adults. I am sure that the children have been sharing this with you at home. They have done an excellent job at being Ready, Respectful and Safe this week.
Free School Meals
This year, all children are entitled to a Free School Meal which has been funded by the Mayor of London. The menu can be found using this link https://haveringcatering.co.uk/schooldata/test-mead-primary/ next week is week 2.
End of the day collection
Please make sure that you inform the school if there will be someone different collecting your child. If we haven’t had a message we will not let a child go until we get permission. We will also not allow older siblings in school to collect younger siblings from Reception to Year 4. Written permission should also be provided for children who walk home alone. Please contact mail@mead.havering.sch.uk to give permission. If you have difficulty collecting your child at the end of day we now have an Abacus After School club. Details can be given at the office or http://www.abacusafterschoolclubs.com/
Smoking and Vaping
Our school is a no smoking or vaping site. Please do not smoke or vape on the premises. Thank you.
Mobile phone Agreements
Please remember to return the mobile phone agreement if there is a particular reason for your child to have a phone in school. You will be asked to collect any phones that are brought into school without the signed agreement. Thank you for your continued support.
Staff Absence
Mrs Kinchella is home and recovering well. We wish her a speedy recovery.Whilst Mrs Kinchella is absent from school there will be lots of staff who will be happy to help and support you. Mrs Pidgeon, Mrs Leggett, Ms Calitz or myself will also be available and can be contacted at the school gate or via the office.
