Weekly Newsletter - 30/06/23

Friday 30th June 2023

Dear Parents and Carers,

Dear Parents and Carers,

Industrial Action

You will be aware that the NEU (National Education Union) have called their members to participate in further strike action. Currently, strikes that affect Havering schools are planned for:

Wednesday 5th July

Friday 7th July

We do not yet know the impact of the strike action and how it will affect the operations of our school. The ability to remain open or partially open will depend on the number of union members taking strike action.

I can confirm that the Year 1 Trip will go ahead on Wednesday and Friday next week but I do not yet know which other classes will be invited into school.

Reminder: Parent Hub-Summer Fete

Tomorrow is the Parent Hub’s Summer Fete. This will be held on the front field from 11am until 4pm. There are inflatables, games, food and drink and much more. Please come along and support the day.

Parent, Carer and Visitor Code of Conduct

As a school it is important that we are clear about acceptable behaviour on our school premises. Our school Parent, Carer and Visitor Code of Conduct can be found on our school website https://mead.havering.sch.uk/key-information/ and sets out our school expectations in order to safeguard our school community. We ask that you always speak to a member of school staff if you have any concerns regarding your own child/ren or incidents that may have taken place during the school day. We will always make every effort to meet with you as soon as possible to discuss your concerns, please do not take matters into your own hands as this can cause concerns to escalate unnecessarily.

Ofsted

Thank you to those who spoke with the Ofsted inspectors this week and gave shared feedback on the Parent View Survey. We will be able to share more information about the inspection when the report is finalised. Thank you all for your continued support.

School uniform

Please ensure that your child wears the correct school uniform to school every day. All children should wear: A bottle green sweatshirt or cardigan, collared white t-shirt, and black trousers or tailored skirt. Leggings are not part of the uniform policy and should not be worn to school. Children may wear flat ankle boots (no heels). We have also requested that school fleeces be made available with the uniform provider and we will inform you when they are available. If you need support with uniform costs please speak to the office as you may be eligible for uniform vouchers if you have not already received these this school year. PE Kits: plain black/grey jogging bottoms or black/green shorts and white t-shirt with appropriate footwear.

Dogs in the playground

Dogs should not come onto school premises unless express permission has been given by the school (e.g. guide dogs). Thank you.
