With the cold mornings we have had the past few days, the children in Reception have loved exploring our outside area and discovering the ice which has been forming. There has been lots of discussions about how and why the ice has formed, one child said "it's because it's so cold out". The children then demonstrated their problem solving skills by finding ways to break the ice. Some used their hands to break the ice, others used hand held tools and some discovered that by putting warm water onto the ice it would melt.
