Dear Parents/Carers

We appreciate it was rather chaotic this morning at drop off and apologise for any inconvenience caused but must say how pleased were to see our children and welcome them back into school

Arranging for over 600 pupils to return to school in line with Government/DfE guidelines has proved to be a bit of a nightmare -hopefully we can learn from the issues raised. The problems arose from a number of factors:

Pupils returning after 5.5 months absence to new year groups/teachers

Extensive building works on site preventing access via some gates

Parents not adhering to the new times

Based on this we have had a rethink and from tomorrow we are asking:

YEAR 6 AND 4 -TO ARRIVE BETWEEN 8:30 AND 8:40 AND LINE UP AT GATE 1B

YEARS 5 AND 2 TO ARRIVE BETWEEN 8:40 AND 8:50 AND LINE UP AT GATE 1A

YEAR 3 TO ARRIVE BETWEEN 8:50 AND 9:00 AND LINE UP AT GATE 1B

YEAR 1 WILL CONTINUE TO ARRIVE AT GATE 3 BETWEEN 8:50 AND 9:00

(THE MAIN GATES WILL BE CLEARLY SIGNED)

Under normal circumstances we, of course, welcome parents on site but under these circumstances we are asking parents to be prepared to say goodbye at the main gates (so avoiding the congestion we had this morning). Of course we understand there will be circumstances where a parent will need to accompany a child to their teacher (we are prepared for this) and we will ensure familiar adults are on hand to escort our younger children.

If you have more than one child please line up at the earliest drop off time

REMEMBER IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO SOCIAL DISTANCE WHILE WAITING

Thank you for your understanding and everything crossed tomorrow's drop off will go more smoothly.
