He competed against Tommy Ivanke in the 10 & Under event, which consisted of 3 rounds. The two boys were evenly matched. Tommy had to overcome the tactics of his opponent, as he liked to approach with his head down and use it to barge Tommy across the ring.
To get round his approach I used my uppercut which forced him to lift his head and make it easier for me to engage him.

Tommy managed to win each of the three rounds, giving him a unanimous decision! To recognise his achievement, Tommy was presented with a fabulous piece of glassware.
Tommy is based at the Hoddeston Boxing Club, who also had 2 other boxers taking part on the night: one of whom lost and the other who won.
