Weekly Newsletter - 16.05.25

Weekly Newsletter

Friday 16th May 2025

Dear Parents and Carers,

This week, a special thank you goes to the Friends of Mead for organising the KS1 Disco—the children had a brilliant time! We’re looking forward to the KS2 Disco next week. If you haven’t signed up yet, there’s still time—please do so via ParentPay.

Looking ahead, on Monday we will be sharing important details about this year’s Sports Day, which will run slightly differently. Please keep an eye on School Ping for further updates.

The weather is certainly keeping us on our toes, but the forecast for next week is sunny and bright! Please ensure that all children come to school with a refillable water bottle and that sunscreen is applied before school to help keep them safe and comfortable throughout the day.

A huge well done to Year 6 for their exemplary attitude and behaviour this week—you continue to make us incredibly proud!

Kindest regards,

Ms A Holmes

Headteacher

Important Information

School Uniform Reminder

As the weather gets warmer, please remember that all children are expected to wear full school uniform in line with our policy.

A few key reminders:

  • Leggings and cycling shorts are not permitted unless worn under a skirt or dress

  • Open-toe shoes and strappy sandals are not allowed for health and safety reasons

  • Jewellery, including hooped earrings, must not be worn

Thank you for your continued support in ensuring our pupils look smart and feel part of our school community.

Changes to the lunch menu- Message from Havering Catering

Following valuable feedback that we have received, we would like to inform you of some upcoming changes to our school menu. The menu for Tuesday of Week 1 has been revised.

The Vegan Bolognese Pasta will be replaced by one of the children’s favourites – Cheese & Tomato Pasta

Additionally, we are reinstating Cheese and Crackers on this day.

Minecraft

Still the best-selling game of all time, Minecraft has hundreds of millions of players - making it more important than ever to stay informed. With its vibrant worlds ๐ŸŒ and endless potential for creativity ๐Ÿงฑ it’s no wonder Minecraft continues to capture young imaginations ๐Ÿ’ญ

With the Minecraft movie hitting cinemas in April, interest in the game has remained strong๐ŸŽฌ But whether they’re mining resources or building digital castles, children could also encounter strangers, scary content or bullying behaviour online. Please see the attached safety guide with top tips to keep your children safe while playing.
