St Lucia Forest School
Yesterday St Lucia had their first Forest School session after the school break. We made sure we were all wrapped up nice a warm before making our way out. Once outside we spoke about what we could do to stay warm or protect us in case it started to snow. We looked at different types of shelters that we could build before the children picked one and we then worked together to build it. Some of them then spent the session playing under the shelter pretending that they were camping- they even made a pretend fire to keep themselves warm. Some of the other children used this time to dig for treasure or practise their gross motor skills balancing on the slack line.

Amazing artefacts
Archaeologists dig all around the world finding artefacts that allow us to delve into history and the lives of people who lived long before us.
Today, Italy class completed their own archaeological dig. On the tables were 6 trays with artefacts from a historical period in time. They needed to dig up the artefacts, decide what they thought the item was used for and what it tells us about the people who lived during that time.

Fiji Forest School Year 1
It was a cold and wintery forest school but Fiji still had lots of fun! We spent time looking at the sky and talking about winter weather. We made homes for some of the forest animals to keep them warm and cosy. We foraged in the forest to make our own bird pictures. Children made music, explored the mud kitchen and took turns to swing the hammocks. We found out how to move the big logs safely and worked together to make our animal dens. Look at us having fun and playing some forest games together!
