Weekly Newsletter
Friday 4th July 2025
Dear Parents and Carers,
What a busy and brilliant week it’s been!
Thank you to all parents and carers for your understanding and support with the optional early collection on Tuesday due to the hot weather. Your cooperation helped us manage the day safely and smoothly, and we really appreciate it.
A huge well done to our Year 6 pupils who took part in their residential trip this week—you stepped outside your comfort zones, embraced new challenges, and quite literally reached new heights! We are incredibly proud of you. Thank you also to the dedicated staff team who gave their time and energy to make the experience such a success.
This week, we were also proud to host the Havering Collective SEND Festival, welcoming children from across the borough for a day filled with fun, inclusive activities. The event was filled with laughter, teamwork, and joy—beautifully summed up by one child who said, “This has been the best day of my life.”
What a fantastic week to be part of the Mead community! 💚
Kindest regards,
Ms A Holmes
Headteacher
Important Information
Respecting Our School Environment and Local Community
We have recently been contacted by one of our neighbours, who witnessed a member of our school community removing litter from their car and discarding it onto Amersham Road. This behaviour is not acceptable and does not reflect the values we promote as a school.
We are also aware of an increase in general littering around the school site at drop-off and pick-up times. As a school, we are now required to comply with new waste management regulations aimed at improving sustainability and reducing environmental impact. This includes stricter controls around the collection and disposal of all waste on school premises.
We kindly ask all parents and carers to support us by taking rubbish home or using the bins provided, and by setting a positive example for our pupils. Let’s continue working together to ensure our school and local community remain clean, safe, and respectful environments for everyone.
Year 6 End of Year Production
Year 6 will be performing their end-of-year production titled "I'm a Year Six – Get Me Out of Here!" on Monday 14th July at 2:00pm in the Key Stage 2 hall. We’re excited to share this special event with you and look forward to seeing you there!
