 Weekly Newsletter

Friday 4th April 2025

Dear Parents and Carers,

Today we finished our Spring term in spectacular fashion! The children have enjoyed a fun-filled day packed with opportunities to interact and play, as part of our trial for the new zoned lunchtime setup, which will officially launch after Easter.

We’ve been absolutely blown away by the creativity and effort shown in the Easter Bonnets and Decorated Eggs brought in today. We wrapped up with a whole-school Easter Bonnet Parade, which reminded us once again of the kindness, joy, and community spirit that runs through our school each and every day. There’s nothing we love more than coming together to celebrate the successes of our wonderful children.

School reopens on Tuesday 22nd April.
We wish all of our families a restful and happy break! 🌼🐣💛

Kindest regards,

Ms A Holmes

Headteacher

Important Information

Amersham Road

Please take extra care when crossing the roads around the school. We’ve had a number of reported near misses this week alone, and we want to ensure everyone remains safe.

Amersham Road is part of the Safer Streets initiative, and we remind families that only those with eligibility through the local authority should be using this road during restricted hours. If you are permitted to use it, please drive with care and consideration for our children and families.

Let’s work together to keep everyone safe

School Uniform Reminder

With the warmer weather on its way, we’d like to remind families of our school uniform policy:

  • Leggings and cycling shorts are not permitted unless worn under a skirt or dress.

  • Open-toe shoes or strappy sandals must not be worn for health and safety reasons.

  • Jewellery should not be worn in school, and hooped earrings must be removed before returning.

Thank you for your support in ensuring all children are dressed appropriately and safely for school.

Year 6 Leavers Jumpers

Some of the year 6 parents have organised for the printing of Mead jumpers or bottle green leavers hoodies. If you have arranged for your child to have a leavers jumper, we ask that children not wear these to school until after SATs week, the week Beginning 19th May. If children come to school wearing jumpers before this date, they will be asked to change into a school jumper.. Thank you in advance for your support with this.

Book Fair

We’re thrilled to announce that our annual Book Fair will take place from Tuesday, 22nd April to Monday, 28th April in the dining hall from 3:15 PM to 4:00 PM each day.

Remember, the more books you purchase at the fair, the more books our school receives—helping to grow our library and support literacy initiatives for our children. Every purchase makes a difference.

Don’t forget to check your ‘Ping’ notification for details about an exciting competition where you could win a £5 voucher to spend at the fair!

We look forward to seeing you there.

World Maths Day

On the 26th of March, a number of children participated in the World Maths Day competition. Children competed in a number of live Mathletics games against children from all over the world. This week we received news that Nathan K finished 1st in the UK in the year 4 division. This incredible achievement also saw him finish 9th in the world. Congratulations Nathan.
