WOW! What an amazing turn out we had for our very first stay and learn session in Reception. It was great to see so many parents and carers "having a go" themselves and for the children to be able to demonstrate all of the skills they have been learning at school. Our junk modelling station proved very popular, with lots of amazing creations from robots to houses being made. The children demonstrated their lovely Fred talk and used the magnetic letters to make their very own words, some words even used their special friend sounds! The children then had an opportunity to read aloud a story to their adults in our book corner and write a Christmas card to their friends at the writing table. Within our maths area the children were busy weighing the different objects and it was great to see the range of manipulates being used to create an array of patterns. An afternoon of learning, perseverance and resilience was demonstrated by all.
