Year 2 Forest School Experience

The Year 2 Elves planned a fun and exciting activity for the children this morning. Each elf left their class a present containing marshmallows, chocolate and a poem explaining what to do.

The children decorated a Marshmallow snowman and then met the elves at the Forest School fire-pit to toast them and make a s’more. We have been learning about fire in our Forest School sessions and the children can discuss how to stay safe around the fire circle. 🔥 ⛄️

“Fire needs oxygen, fuel and heat to burn” - Sara

“I’ve never had a s’more before! That was delicious” - Lily

“We had a campfire just like Plop did in The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark” - Ethan

Marvellous Mathletics in Year 2!

Here are some of our recent certificate winners:

Weekly Newsletter - 15/12/23

Dear Parents and Carers,

Thank you to everyone who joined us throughout the week for the Christmas performances. The children wowed us all with their wonderful performances. The Year 3 and 4 performance has been recorded and will be edited and sent out on today. Tuesday 19th December is our final day of the term and the children are able to wear non-school uniform. Please also look out for Father Christmas who has promised to drop in during the final two days! We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

KS2 Christmas Songs

On Tuesday afternoon from 2:50pm, the children in KS2 (juniors) will be singing Christmas songs. The gates to the playground will open at 2:50pm and Parents and Carers are welcome to join us to sing along. The children will then be released at the usual time of 3:10pm. Year 3 will also be joining the children in the KS2 playground and should also be collected from here.

Havering Cost of Living Support- Message from Havering
Havering recognises that as the cost of living continues to rise across the country, our residents are going to be feeling the pinch this winter. The Council’s new cost of living online hub brings together all of the support available to residents – from financial help with food and energy bills to free school holiday meals and mental health. The website contains links to the Havering Helps assistance scheme, details of warm spaces, council tax support, debt management services, energy grants, food banks and community hubs, as well as online benefits calculators so residents can be sure they’re receiving all the support they are entitled to. The Council will also publish details of any new support schemes, both local and national, in the Living in Havering email bulletin.

Safer Streets Scheme

We have been asked to share a short survey regarding the Safer Streets Scheme. This short survey will take less than 5 minutes to complete. To access, please use the link here- Parent survey.

Late arrivals and Early collections

From January children in Nursery, Reception and Year 1 and 2 will have access to the office at Gate 3. This means that if they arrive at any time between 8:50am-10am they can be brought to the nursery entrance. Mrs Bruiners will be at this entrance to meet and greet children and they will then be able to make their way to their classrooms. This will be a trial period for the first half term. Children in Year 3,4, 5 and 6 will continue to come into school through the main office at gate 1.

Wishing you all a very merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

We look forward to welcoming you back on Thursday 4th January 2024.

Yours sincerely,

Ms A Holmes
