Weekly Newsletter - 12.9.25

 Friday 12th September 2025

Dear Parents and Carers,

This week we were delighted to welcome our new Reception children and their families to Mead! It’s been wonderful to see the children settling in so well, and we look forward to getting to know you all over the coming weeks.

Year 4 had a fantastic first swimming session, and we’re excited for after-school clubs to begin next week. There's lots of fun and learning ahead!

To help children become more independent at drop off and pick up, please avoid looking through classroom windows. If you have a message for staff, speak to someone on the door or gate, or contact your child’s teacher via the year group email or the school office.

Regular attendance is important for children to get the most from their learning. If your child is absent, please let us know by 8:30am each day by calling 01708 343616 (option 1) or emailing mail@mead.havering.sch.uk. If we haven’t heard from you, we will contact you, and a home visit may be carried out if we cannot reach you. Please see the Local Authority Attendance Policy attached for your information.

Thank you for your support in helping all children settle, learn, and thrive!

Ms Holmes

Weekly Newsletter - Important Information

No Scooters or Bikes in the Playground

For the safety of all children, please ensure that children do not ride scooters or bikes in the playground at any time. Riding in these areas creates a risk of accidents and injuries.

We ask for your support in reinforcing this rule with your children and helping us maintain a safe environment for everyone.

KS2 Play Equipment

Our outdoor gym equipment is a fantastic resource for pupils during school hours. For safety reasons, any use of the equipment before or after school is entirely at the parent/guardian’s responsibility.

Please ensure:

  • Children are supervised by an adult at all times.

  • Equipment is used safely and appropriately.
Pupils follow the same rules as during school hours: no running, no eating or drinking on equipment, and use one at a time or as designed.

The school cannot accept responsibility for accidents or injuries that occur outside school hours.
