Weekly Newsletter - Important Information
Friday 15th November 2024
Dear Parents and carers,
What a week it has been at Mead. I don’t quite know how everything has been fitted into 5 school days. A huge thank you to the staff who have gone above and beyond to make sure the children have the best experiences and also to you, the parents and carers who have had to navigate the many different theme days and events this week during and after school.
On Tuesday Year 4 had a fantastic day celebrating TTRockstars. From their outfits to their rock dancing skills, a great day was had by all! Antigua class loved their first Forest school session and can’t wait to get back outside and learn more. My favourite part of the week has been listening to the children recite their Remembrance Day poems. Their heartfelt performances not only showcased their creativity and expression but also demonstrated their understanding of the significance of Armistice Day. We will put together a short video to share with you all. Well done to all of the children!
Scooters and bikes
We have previously shared that Scooters and Bikes must not be used on the school grounds as this is a risk due to the number of people in the playground and the speed in which the scooters can go. Yesterday, there was a significant incident where an adult was hurt. All staff will be asking all children to alight scooters and bikes at the gate to avoid any further incidents. Scooters and Bikes must NOT be used on the school premise. We really welcome your support with this to ensure the safety of all children, parents and staff members.
Events coming up next week
Jamaica Class and Antigua class have their parent consultations next week. Thank you to those parents who have booked a slot. If you haven’t been able to do so yet, please speak to a member of staff who will be able to help you.
The Friends of Mead will be hosting their Christmas fete on Friday 22nd November straight after school. We look forward to seeing you there! Please send in any donations for the Tombola before Thursday. Any donations are greatly appreciated.
Please also see the dates for the rest of the half term, at the end of the newsletter.
