Pupil Parliament visit the Mayor!

Today, a few members of our Pupil Parliament were invited to visit the Mayor! We travelled into Romford on the bus, and arrived at the grand Town Hall. Children were lucky enough to ask the Mayor questions, and find out what being a mayor is like. Using gloves, they even got to hold the mace! They were treated to some juice and snacks before heading back on the bus.

They all behaved amazingly and should be very proud -  the Mayor even commented on how well behaved the children were!

Anti-Bullying Week 2022

The children began their week wearing odds socks to school in support of Anti- Bullying week. The whole school then took part in an assembly to introduce this year’s theme 'Reach Out' and discussed why we continue to learn about how to support each other! We spoke about what bullying is, how we can make a difference and what our Anti- Bullying code is at Mead. The children can tell you all about the ABCs!

Our Pupil Parliament expressed that they would like to cover this topic further and will host their own assembly in the coming weeks. We are also very pleased to have West End in Schools delivering workshops throughout the next two weeks, to continue to highlight why it is important to speak out. Please keep looking at the website and Facebook for updates and pictures of what your child is doing.

The children and teachers had to vote on the two children they wanted to take up this role. The two winners will be announced next week.

Message from Pupil Parliament

At Mead, we are so lucky to be able to be in school whereas lots of children in Ukraine are unable to attend school due to the current conflict. We decided that we would like to support children who are suffering by donating to UNICEF.  For every £80 raised, UNICEF can provide 20 children so they can continue their education.

We would like everyone to bring in spare change (as much as you can). We will be collecting donations throughout the week. Let’s see how many children we can help!
