Weekly Newsletter - 26/11/21- Important Information

Dear Parents and Carers,

Parent Partnership Mornings

We are pleased to be able to share the dates for our Parent Partnership Mornings. Each Parent Partnership meeting will have a curriculum focus and keep you updated on what is happening across the school. All meetings will take place in the KS2 Hall and tea and coffee will be provided. Our first meeting will be on Thursday 27th January and will be focussed on Reading and Phonics. Further dates can be found in the Key Information and Dates section below. We look forward to seeing you there.

Parking

Please be considerate of our neighbours when parking to pick up and drop off your children. We have had an increased number of neighbours who have shared concerns about this and some who have been blocked in and unable to leave for work. The speed in which some cars are travelling on the road is too fast. Please consider your speed and keep our children safe.

Mrs Cullum- Antigua Class

Mrs Cullum will be leaving Mead at the end of the Autumn term as she is relocating with her young family. Mrs Cullum has worked at Mead for 7 years. She has taught many children throughout the school and knows the school community well. She has been a dedicated member of our school team and we wish her all the best in her new venture. We will welcome Ms Richardson, who is an experienced EYFS teacher into the reception team, who will share responsibility of Antigua Class with Mrs Glover. Ms Richardson will be in school to work alongside Mrs Cullum over the coming weeks to ensure that the transition is as smooth as possible for the children. I am sure you will all join me in wishing Mrs Cullum the best of luck.

Year 3 - Forest School - Week 8

We kept busy at forest school today making lots of music. The children explored with different ways to create sound, tapping, scraping and shaking. They made drums, guitars and guiros. They took it in turns to be the conductor of their woodland orchestra and decided who should play and when considering the impact this had on the music created. Some even fitted in making a base and lighting their own mini fires too. Great creativity demonstrated today.

Well done Year 3!

Attendance treats for Madagascar!

Congratulations to Madagascar who beat their attendance target again last week! It is clear they enjoy school and the week was filled with fun experiences.

The week started with Odd Sock Day for Anti-bullying week where we explored kindness and our uniqueness. Then on Wednesday they got to attend a performance of The Aladdin pantomime here at school. On Friday to show our support for Children in Need we had a PJs for Pudsey day and the children  came to school dressed in their pyjamas and dressing gowns. There wasn't any opportunity for sleep though as they had two more treats for their great attendance over the last two weeks. First the children got to swap play areas with year 1 and then they were provided with bubbles to enhance the fun. Madagascar have already achieved many other treats on the Attendance-opoly board this term like cake and squash with Mrs Pidgeon, Hot chocolate and story time with Mr Denchfield and music while they work.

Keep up the good work Madagascar and thank you parents and carers for also making this happen.
