Year 2 Homework

Below is a copy of the Bingo Homework, a paper copy of this has already been sent home in the children's Homework folders.

We are looking forward to seeing what they choose to do. Please encourage your child to bring in their work to their class teacher by the 7th February 2018. Their efforts will be celebrated in the E for Excellence assembly at the end of that week and they will receive a certificate.

Sketch these activities then label the push or pull on your drawing:
Pulling a cracker.
Pushing a sledge.
Kicking a ball.
Riding a bike.

Think of the four sentence types and write an example for each one.

Write 5 facts about the famous Victorian ‘Brunel’.
Look at his bridges and his influence on transport.
Pick a multiplication sentence then draw it as equal groups of your choice.
Think of 6 things you can buy at the shops. Use commas to put them into a list in a sentence.

Write these words in their shortened form using apostrophes.

Write 5 facts about the famous explorer ‘Christopher Columbus’.
Look at the countries he visited on a map.

Draw an animal of your choice that has fur. Try to use your pencil to create the texture of the fur.
Log in to the www.mymaths.co.uk website using your log in details. Try some of the games or any tasks that are set.
Count in steps of ten from any number, forward and backward.


Research different forms of transport and when they were invented.
Draw a compass rose and label the compass points.
Think of five questions you can ask a character in your book.
Count forwards and backwards in 2’s 3’s 5s and 10s.

Write your spelling words in alphabetical order. 
Describe the setting from a book you have read.  Remember to use your five senses to help you with the description.
Write 5 multiplication problems. Now write them as a repeated addition.

Choose a poem and write it out in your best handwriting. Try and join your letters neatly.
Make a list of as many inventors that you can.  What did they invent?

What is a Windmill? Draw one and

Write out as many times tables as you know.
