Welcome Back

This is the first of what will be a weekly newsletter that we believe will help to keep you informed of what has been, and will be, happening at Mead Primary and across the Learning Federation.

I hope you all had an enjoyable summer holiday and are now prepared for what promises to be a very busy year. It’s a very exciting time for Mead. While we've been away lots has been going on in school and lots more is planned for the next few months. For those who haven’t had the opportunity to witness the changes:
  • You have probably already noticed new signage around the site and at the entrances.
  • Our reception area has been completely redecorated and the displays, which include collages of photographs of our children, have really brightened up the environment.
  • The corridors throughout the school are being painted white and we have new display boards to inform and celebrate pupils’ work.
  • A canopy now extends the entire length of the KS1/Reception building so enabling our children to participate in play-led learning activities throughout the year.
  • An enormous sandpit is under development in the EYFS area and a water play area is planned for the near future… so watch this space!
  • The wooded area has been tidied up and within the next few weeks we are expecting to add a treehouse, a mud kitchen and a music area for the children to explore.
This clearly exemplifies our renewed Vision to ensure that your pupils get a world class environment in which to learn. We look forward to showing you around the new features later in September, or early October, once the majority of the work has been completed.
