New EYFS Doors & Windows

As part of our efforts to ensure the school is modernised and continuously improved we have just had the EYFS windows replaced. This will involve an investment of over £40,000 to cover all of the Reception classes and the Nursery.

The programme will be completed for these areas by the middle of September, meaning that we can then render parts of the building to make the environment much more eye catching.

An added benefit is that the classrooms will be much quieter and warmer. We are sure you are aware of the huge refurbishment that is required at Mead, and we are doing all we can to complete it swiftly. This summer will have seen:

  • new windows
  • a canopy covering the outdoor area for 12 classes
  • improved wooded area
  • giant sandpit
  • new servers & computers
  • upgraded screens in the classrooms
  • improved play equipment in the Junior playground (to be installed in Sept)
  • better signage
  • repainted corridors and classrooms
  • new electrical fuse boards
  • asbestos removed from ceilings
In total Mead will have spent over £250,000 in just three months to help bring about all of these improvements. Our aim is to ensure a world class environment for your children to give them the best experience possible.

We do appreciate all of your support and understanding as the considerable program of works is completed, but we know that all the benefits will be worthwhile.
