Dear Parents and Carers,

On Monday, I had the honour of visiting Havering Town Hall to meet the Mayor and receive recognition on behalf of Mead for the outcome of our Ofsted inspection. The event celebrated the incredible work taking place across Havering schools, and it was a proud moment to see our school acknowledged.

This recognition is a reflection of the dedication, care, and commitment that our staff demonstrate every day to support and inspire your children. It is also a tribute to the whole Mead community—our staff, pupils, and families. Thank you for the ongoing support you continue to give; it truly makes a difference.

On Tuesday, it was a pleasure to welcome our new Reception parents and carers into the Mead community during their first welcome meeting. This time of year always reminds us how quickly the school year passes and how important transition is for all of our pupils.

This week, the children also began meeting their new teachers for the next academic year. These transition sessions are a valuable opportunity for children to begin forming positive relationships, ask questions, and feel more confident about the year ahead. They will meet with their new teachers two more times before the summer break.

And finally, a huge thank you and well done to the Friends of Mead for organising our incredible Summer Carnival 2025! The event was full of fun, laughter, and community spirit. We’re so grateful for the time and energy they give to creating such memorable experiences for our children and families.

Thank you again for your continued support. Mead is what it is because of the strength of our whole school community. 💚

Kindest regards,

Ms A Holmes

Headteacher

Farewell and Best Wishes to Mrs Mackman

Next week, we say a fond farewell to Mrs Mackman, who has now completed her teacher training here at Mead and is ready to take on her very own class in September. Mrs Mackman has been a valued member of the Mead team since 2017. Throughout her time with us, she has brought warmth, dedication, and a true passion for working with children. She will be greatly missed by staff and pupils alike, but we are incredibly proud of her achievements and excited for all that lies ahead. We wish Mrs Mackman every success and happiness in her new role.
