Children’s Mental Health Week 6-12th February.

Next week is Children’s Mental Health Week which is run by children’s mental health charity Place2Be to raise awareness of the importance of children and young people’s mental health. This year’s theme is Let’s Connect.

What's it all about?

Let’s Connect is about making meaningful connections, and for Children’s Mental Health Week 2023, Place2Be is encouraging people to connect with others in healthy, rewarding and meaningful ways. How you connect with friends and family and how they develop their own friendships and relationships. For example, how you greet people and maintain friendships, but also how you forgive people or say sorry when you need to. We will be discussing these themes with the children in class.

On Friday the 10th February we will be having a non-uniform day and we will be asking the children to ‘Dress to Express’. They can wear their favourite colour or a unique outfit to express how they are feeling. We will be collecting donations for this charity on the day.

Healthy Snacks

We are now providing break time fruit for all children in school. We have fruit delivered weekly and this is available in all classrooms. Please do not send high fat or sugary snacks into school for the children to consume throughout the day.

Morning Sports Clubs

Please make sure that children who are attending before school clubs do not arrive before 7:30am. There are a limited number of adults in school at this time and sometimes there are children left unattended at the entrance to school. Morning clubs start at 7:45am. Please do not leave your child unattended before this time.

School uniform

Please ensure that your child wears the correct school uniform to school every day. All children should wear: A bottle green sweatshirt or cardigan, collared white t-shirt, and black trousers or tailored skirt. Leggings are not part of the uniform policy and should not be worn to school. Children may wear flat ankle boots (no heels). We have also requested that school fleeces be made available with the uniform provider and we will inform you when they are available. If you need support with uniform costs please speak to the office as you may be eligible for uniform vouchers if you have not already received these this school year.

PE Kits: plain black/grey jogging bottoms or black/green shorts and white t-shirt with appropriate footwear.
