Newsletter 14th September 2018

Dear Parents,

It is really pleasing to see how well our Reception children have settled in to their first week at Mead-All good so far!

Our nursery children have been to stay and play sessions where they have had the opportunity to get to know the practitioners in our nursery setting in preparation for their start in the near future. Work is due to start later this term to expand the existing nursery so our children will soon be able to move back into a new purpose built environment to support their learning. We look forward to starting our 30-hour nursery pupils next week.

Any parents/carers whose children suffer from asthma please ensure their pumps and forms are returned to school a.s.a.p

To ensure everyone is safe and prevent accidents please be reminded children ARE NOT permitted to ride their bicycles/scooters in the playground before/after school

Veggie Run

Following on from the very successful launch of this initiative last term, when 2 of our pupils received brand new bicycles:
Veggie Run is back for the autumn term and has new friends!
I am pleased to announce HES Catering Services and Veggie Run is offering 30 primary and junior schools the opportunity for pupils in either Year 4 or Year 5 to partake in free West Ham Foundation learning and development sessions during school hours from November 2018.
This free programme is offered in six consecutive week blocks for one year group in either the morning or afternoon. Children will learn about the rewards of healthy eating and take part in physical activity sessions.

Andrew Black-Herbert the Chief Executive of Havering Council will be drawing 30 schools out of a hat on the 17 September at 12pm.

To officially launch this exciting partnership, The West Ham football Club will host 10 pupils at their stadium on 7 November and a pupil from your school could be there!!
The lucky pupil will also receive a free West Ham home football kit, football boots, shin pads, a full stadium tour, and (fixture dependent) the opportunity to meet a first team player. Pupils who purchase a school catered lunch from 10 September – 12 October will be included in a prize draw to be at the Launch. HES Catering will contact you directly once your school has signed up to the programme to provide full details.
Throughout the academic year Veggie Run will also be hosting new and exciting competitions for schools and pupils and will be awarded prizes from West Ham Football Club, Stubbers Outdoor Activity Centre, Everyone Active, Change4Life and sQuid. Prizes include signed West Ham sports memorabilia, West Ham match tickets, Class tours to West Ham Stadium and orienteering at the Olympic Park, as well as staff team building and class days at Stubbers plus much more. We will keep you updated throughout the year for all new prizes.
Ensure you check the school newsletter/blogs for further updates.
