Weekly Newsletter

Friday 9th May 2025

Dear Parents and Carers,

Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate 80 years since VE Day yesterday. The children had a wonderful time marking this historic occasion, and we’re so pleased many of you were able to be part of the final celebrations. We were truly overwhelmed by the level of support from parents and carers—it was fantastic to see such a strong turnout. We're already thinking about how we can host more events like this in the future, giving everyone the chance to attend and see their children participate.

This week, children also took part in a range of Deaf Awareness Week activities, practising their signs and learning to fingerspell their names. It’s been great to see how engaged and respectful they were as they explored ways to better understand and support others.

Next week, our Year 6 pupils will be sitting their SATs tests. While these assessments are part of the school journey, it’s important to remember that they are just a snapshot of one moment in time. They do not define our children, nor do they measure all the things that make them unique, talented, and special. We are already incredibly proud of their achievements, and we know they will give their best.

Wishing everyone a restful weekend and the very best to our Year 6s for next week—you’ve got this! 🌟

Kindest regards,

Ms A Holmes

Headteacher

Air tags and tracking devices

We would like to remind parents that personal tracking devices (e.g. Apple AirTags) are not permitted in school or on school trips. While we understand the wish to ensure children’s safety, these devices raise serious safeguarding, privacy, and security concerns. Full guidance is available on the school website. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the school directly Guidance on Tracking Devices Thank you for your support in helping us keep all pupils safe.

Safety

There has been an increase in the amount of children, particularly through gate 3 (infant entrance) that are riding scooters in and out of school. Please ensure that your child is not riding their scooter or bike until they leave the school grounds. Please be mindful that the wall leading out of the infant playground is not for walking along and jumping from. However tempting it is, this is a risk to health and safety of the child climbing and others walking passed. Please ensure that your children are not climbing on this wall. Thank you for your support in keeping everyone safe.

Mental Health Week: Monday 12th May- Sunday 18th May 2025

Next week is Mental Health week.  Please use this week to talk to your children about what mental health is, how we look after our mental health and who to talk to if they are struggling with their mental health.  We will also be talking to children about this at school next week.  To support you with these conversations and for free resources, please see:
