Weekly Newsletter - Important Information

Friday 19th July 2024

Dear Parents and Carers,

It is hard to believe that this is the final newsletter of this school year! What a year it has been with so many successes and lots of changes, we are finishing this year on a high feeling so incredibly proud of everything the children and the school has achieved.

We have an exciting lineup of activities planned for the children in the coming week:

Monday: The much-anticipated "Mead's Got Talent" event will take centre stage, providing our talented children with an opportunity to showcase their skills and creativity.

Tuesday: Our "Summer Fun Day" promises to be a delightful celebration, where children will participate in engaging activities alongside staff members.

For the final two days (Monday and Tuesday), we will be allowing the children to attend school in non-uniform. On Tuesday, we recommend dressing them in comfortable sportswear and sensible footwear to ensure their enjoyment during the planned activities. The Friend of Mead will be collected in any used and unwanted school uniform which can be put in the Uniform bin in the KS2 playground.

Thank you all for your continued support and partnership throughout this academic year.  It has been a privilege to witness the growth and achievements of all of our children, and we look forward to embarking on new adventures together in the upcoming school year and welcoming you all back on Wednesday 4th September 2024.

Following a successful consultation the new School Day times have now been confirmed.

We understand that this may take some time to get used to and we will be supporting you through this change for the first half term. If you have any worries or concerns, please let us know.

Remembering Mrs. Wolf

It would be remiss not to acknowledge the profound loss our community experienced with the passing of Mrs. Wolf in February. Her impact on our children and colleagues was immeasurable, and we aim to honour her memory by installing a memorial bench on the school grounds. Many of you have kindly enquired about contributing to this tribute, and we will have a collection bucket available at both gates on Monday and Tuesday for those who wish to participate.

Staff Leaving

As well as wishing Mrs Rolph all the best for her retirement, we will also be saying goodbye and good luck to Miss Edwards and Miss Johnson next week as they both embark on a new chapter in their lives and careers.

Miss Edwards has been a valued member of Mead Primary school for the past 12 years and has taught many of our children throughout her time here. We would like to thank Miss Edwards for all that she has brought to Mead and wish her all the best for the future.

Miss Johnson has been at Mead for the past 3 years and has provided support and care to many of our children throughout her time here. Not only are we saying goodbye to Miss Johnson, we are saying congratulations as she gets Married in the Summer holidays. We wish Miss Johnson all the very best for her next chapter.

Parking considerately

We are unfortunately still receiving complaints from residents that parents are parking across their drives and blocking entrances and exits to our neighbours property. We have advised these residents to report individuals to Havering Council parking enforcement, however once again we would like to appeal to anyone parking on the roads surrounding school, to park considerably and not on any dropped curbs. Thank you in advance for your cooperation with this.
