Pupil Parliament

In Monday’s assembly, we shared a really exciting way our children will be able to have a strong and meaningful voice in important school matters. Next week, every class in Y1 to Y6 will be holding class elections where 2 children from each class will become a member of the Pupil Parliament (once our Reception children are settled into school life, we may also extend this to them). One of the class places will be determined via an anonymous vote by the children and the other will be nominated by the teacher. We have chosen to split the way children are elected to ensure the children do have a vote but with the class teacher able to nominate a child, we can ensure it is not simply a popularity vote (which can sometimes happen). These children will sit on the Pupil Parliament for 1 school term and then there will be new elections. This way, a wide number of children in each class will have the chance to contribute to the Pupil Parliament.

For our elections next week, the children will be asked to speak to the class for up to 1 minute and explain why they would make a good representative. If your child is interested, they may be starting to think about their speech this weekend. You are very welcome to support them and listen to their speech!

School Photographs

Carmel Jane Photography will be visiting our school on the 21st October, to take individual photographs. Parents are requested to pre-register before the photography date above to enable access to your child’s photographs. Pre-registration is required for every photo shoot.

Registration only takes a minute. Please visit www.carmeljaneshop.co.uk and enter the following code: JRG8A92

You will then be asked to pre-register with your child's full school register name. Once registered, as soon as the photos are available you will receive an automatic email notification to inform you that your child's photos are now ready to be viewed and can be purchased.
