Weekly Newsletter- 08/10/2021- Important information

Dear Parents and Carers,

Norovirus

In the last couple of days, we have seen a number of children absent from school or leave school early as they have sickness and/or diarrhoea. This has mainly affected Reception and Year 1.

Norovirus can spread easily and is often caught from:

*close contact with someone with norovirus
*touching surfaces or objects that have the virus on them, then touching your mouth
*eating food that's been prepared or handled by someone with norovirus

Washing your hands frequently with soap and water is the best way to stop it spreading. Alcohol hand gels do not kill norovirus. Further information is available on the NHS Norovirus website.

I have reported this to Public Health England and are awaiting further advice. We will be undertaking a thorough clean before we reopen on Monday.

Italy Class update
Following the appointment of Ms Holmes as Acting Head of School, I am pleased to share that we have secured the services of Mrs Savage as their class teacher. Mrs Savage worked with Italy class for a number of days last week and is very much looking forward to joining our school community.

Local Elections Day - Thursday 5th May

We have just been informed that the school is being used as a Polling Station for the local elections on Thursday 5th May. This means the school will be closed on this day. We will reopen on Friday 6th May as usual.

Lateness

We have seen an increase in the number of children coming to school. It is really important the children are in school by 8-40 to start their day. The school gates close promptly at 8-50 and parents must then take their child/children to the school office which is an inconvenience to parents and further delays the start of the children’s day. Your support with this is very much appreciated.

School Photographs

Carmel Jane Photography will be visiting our school on the 21st October, to take individual photographs. Parents are requested to pre-register before the photography date above to enable access to your child’s photographs. Pre-registration is required for every photo shoot.

Registration only takes a minute. Please visit www.carmeljaneshop.co.uk and enter the following code: JRG8A92

You will then be asked to pre-register with your child's full school register name. Once registered, as soon as the photos are available you will receive an automatic email notification to inform you that your child's photos are now ready to be viewed and can be purchased.
