Weekly Newsletter 02/07/2021 - Important Information

Dear Parents and Carers,

Open Evening
Please complete the Google form below if you would like to request a telephone meeting with your child’s teacher to discuss their school report. The reports are due to be given out on Monday 12th July so telephone meetings will be that week and possibly the week after. Google Request for a telephone meeting to discuss your child’s report.

Cultural Week - Monday 12th July to Friday 16th July
For the penultimate week of the school year, the children will be spending their afternoon lessons learning all about the country that their class name is. We plan to make this a yearly event which will give our children the opportunity to learn about the many different cultures, languages, famous people and landmarks across the world.

Year 6 end of term arrangements
Mrs Keen and the Year 6 team are currently finalising their plans for the end of term. Mrs Keen will be writing to Y6 parents shortly with an outline of how we will celebrate the children’s end of their time at Mead, albeit with certain COVID restrictions in place.

Summer Reading Challenge
This is run through your local library with the aim of encouraging reading over the summer holiday. It would be really good if you could encourage your child/children to take part. Summer Reading Challenge.

Sports Afternoon’s
The weather has not been too kind to us this week and we have not been able to run many of the Sports Afternoons. Mr Robinson and Mr Stanbridge and rescheduling some for next week where we hope to have better weather. Pictures to follow on the Blog and Facebook!

Parent Communication
Following our Parent Survey in May, we are looking to make further improvements to our communication with parents. I would be really grateful if you would take 2 minutes to complete the Google Survey below that will help us further improve our communication. We are already working on some new plans (e.g. a new website with lots more information for parents, children and staff) but would welcome your ideas!
