Sunday 11 March 2018

Term: Spring 2                     Date: 12.03.2018

Dear Parent/Carer,
Happy Mother`s day to all our Nursery mums. We hope the children give you a lovely and restful day.
The children had a busy week making some lovely treats for their mums. We hope you like them.
It was also World book day and we thank you for the support in sending the children in such great costumes.
Next week the children will be learning about `The Gruffalo` a very popular story written by Julia Donaldson .They will be making Gruffalo`s out of paper plates, joining in with the story and next week they will have a Gruffalo hunt and a gruffalo picnic.

These are the skills we will be focusing on this week:

Mathematics
The children are continuing to develop the skills to count accurately. We will be practising our counting and looking at sizes and shapes of things.

Physical
The children will have daily sessions outside developing their gross motor skills. We will be concentrating on throwing and catching on Friday during our weekly P.E session.

Literacy
The children will be able to practise their mark making and encouraging the children to retell the story and join in with the repetitive text..

Communication and Language
Encouraging children to use simple sentences correctly.
Encouraging children to hold a conversation and respond to comments.

Personal and Social Development
Ensuring children are able to cooperate with routines and some boundaries.Modelling the correct behaviours in play, ensuring children use resources well and begin to share with other children.
