Reception become underwater explorers

Wow, what a fantastic day Reception children had delving into their imaginations and exploring under the sea. As part of our learning on the Rainbow Fish story we had a workshop allowing the children to retell the story, understanding the importance of being a good friend and using drama as a way of expression themselves.

We put on our "imagination hats" and used our senses to describe what we could see, hear and feel. We became creatures which live under the sea, we were an octopus, starfish, puffer fish and lantern fish to name a few. "Octopus squirts ink" said Bogdan, "A lantern fish lights up" Fareeda was heard saying.

The children thoroughly enjoyed their underwater experience and even got one of the Rainbow fish's scales to hold! "It was nice when we shared the scales".

A BIG thank you goes to the Freshwater theatre company for a fantaastic day.
