Dear Parents and Carers,

It’s hard to believe that another half term has passed so quickly! The children have worked extremely hard over the first part of the summer term. A huge well done to Year 6 who despite some very challenging tests remained positive and tried their best when completing their SATs. It has been lovely to welcome so many of you into school to work with your children. We have a meeting on Wednesday 8th June at 9am to share more about the changes to our Home reading books. We hope to see you there.

We will be adding a small class photo to each individual End of Year Report. If you wish for your child not to be included in this photo, please inform your child’s class teacher before the 9th June. Thank you.



The start of the school day

We have a large number of children who are attending school earlier and earlier in the mornings and are being left unattended. The school gates are open to allow access to children who attend the breakfast club. All children can come into school from 8:30am. Until this time there are no adults supervising outside and therefore any children who are left unattended in the playground remain the responsibility of their parents and carers until 8:30am.



Reading Volunteers

We would like to introduce Reading Volunteers for the next school year. We are looking for adults who would be able to give their time once or twice a week to listen to readers. All volunteers would be asked to complete a DBS check and undergo some training that would be provided by the school. If this is something that you would like to be involved in, please register your interest here.


Parent View- Results

Thank you to those who have completed our parent view questionnaire. After reviewing the results we can see that we parents would like to know more about what their children are learning and be more informed. As well as adding more information on our school website and blog, we are also planning opportunities for parents and carers to come into school more regularly to ‘Stay and Learn’ sessions. This has already been a great success in EYFS, Reception, Year 1 and 2 and we have more sessions planned for next year which will include KS2.

Concerns and worries

If you have any concerns or worries, please always make sure that you speak to a member of staff so that we can work together to resolve them and offer additional support. If you have concerns, always speak to your child’s class teacher in the first instance. If they are unable to help, you can always speak with the year group leader who can be contacted on the year group email or face to face at the end of the school day. Sometimes it may be necessary to make a complaint to the school which is why we have our schools complaint policy in place.
