Weekly Newsletter

Friday 25th April 2025

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome Back to the Summer Term!

We hope you had a wonderful break over Easter. As we begin the new term, we’re excited to share that next week we will be sending out all the key dates for events happening this Summer term.

Meeting with Staff

At the end of last term, we noticed an increase in the number of parents and carers calling or arriving at reception and requesting to meet with school staff immediately. While we value the partnership we have with families and understand that concerns may arise, please be aware that teachers are engaged in delivering lessons throughout the school day and are unable to leave their classes to meet with visitors at short notice.

If you need to discuss a concern or arrange a meeting, your first point of contact should always be your child’s Class teacher or Year Group Leader. They are best placed to direct your query and arrange a suitable time for a meeting, if necessary.

By contacting your Year Group Leader in advance, we can ensure that your query is addressed in a timely and efficient manner. Please note that Year Group Leaders also have heavy teaching schedules and may be involved in after-school intervention sessions or meetings.

Parent Forum Invitation

We will be arranging a Parent Forum during the half term, where all parents and carers will be invited to share their feedback. This forum will also include a working group focused on our school's communication strategy and celebrating the wonderful events that take place throughout the school year.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Kindest regards,

Ms A Holmes

Headteacher

Important Information

Celebrating Excellent Attendance!

As an additional way to acknowledge and celebrate excellent attendance, we are introducing a new weekly reward! Each Monday, the class with the highest weekly attendance will have the opportunity to come to school in non-uniform.

I am delighted to announce that the first winning class this week is England, with an incredible 99.1% attendance! We are so proud of your outstanding commitment and effort.

Well done, England class – keep up the great work!

Mrs Corless- Attendance Officer

School Uniform Reminder

With the warmer weather on its way, we’d like to remind families of our school uniform policy:

  • Leggings and cycling shorts are not permitted unless worn under a skirt or dress.

  • Open-toe shoes or strappy sandals must not be worn for health and safety reasons.

  • Jewellery should not be worn in school, and hooped earrings must be removed before returning.

Thank you for your support in ensuring all children are dressed appropriately and safely for school.

Making friends online

Making friends online can open doors to exciting new experiences  - but it can also expose children to serious risks . Around 19% of children aged 10 to 15 in England and Wales have chatted online with someone they’ve never met face to face. Please see the attached guide which explores how young people form connections online and what trusted adults should know.
