Weely Newsletter 11th May 2018

Dear Parents,

Next week is year 6 SATs week. It is really important ALL our year 6 pupils are in school every day on time. We aim to make the week as stress free as possible, so are offering a free breakfast club for year 6 children from Monday-Thursday which will give them time to relax and socialise with their friends prior to the tests.

Year 2 SATs tests will be taking place over the next 2 weeks-these are conducted like normal lessons so are very informal and stress free.

Parking
Please note -Parents are NOT permitted to drive onto the school site unless by prior arrangement. We have had some difficulties with the mechanism of our electric gates which has meant they have been left open-This should not be seen as an invitation for parents to drive into school.

Please be respectful of our neighbours. I have had complaints about parents parking across and on drives in Amersham Road without prior agreement with the home owners.

Lates
The number of pupils arriving late in school has been rising recently-Please be reminded children can come into school from 8:30 onwards and they are definitely expected to be in school by 8:45. Persistent latecomers are reported to the local authority and this could result in a fine.

We also have a large number of pupils not collected on time at the end of the day. This often causes a lot of distress to the children and congestion in the reception area. We are aware that on rare occasions a parent may be delayed, through no fault of their own, and of course in this situation we are happy to hold on to your child until you arrive to collect them, BUT we can no longer tolerate parents regularly arriving late to collect their children and will be considering adopting measures to prevent this happening.

Also if you need to arrange alternative collection arrangements, e.g someone else to collect your child, you must inform our office BEFORE 2:30 -this ensures there is sufficient time to pass the information on to the class teacher.

Royal Wedding Celebrations - Friday 18th May
As you are all aware Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are getting married on Saturday 19th May at Windsor Castle. We are celebrating in school by wearing wedding headwear for the day. Veils, top hats, tiaras, bowler hats & fascinators the bigger and brighter the better! It doesn't matter if they are home made or handed down from grandparents, we are looking forward to seeing all the pupils Royal wedding ready.

School uniform
Please see message I have been asked to pass on to you from Premier schoolwear:

‘Sadly I ask again if you can inform your parents that the Trade Counter will be closed this Saturday 12th May
This is because of a staffing shortage
If any of you know of any 16/18 yr olds looking for part time work, ask them to drop their cv’s over please.’

We are once again collecting a lot of clothing in lost property which we are unable to return as the items are not named. Please ensure that all your child’s clothes are marked clearly with their name-this will ensure you get it back.
