Parents Reading Workshops

Reading Workshops for Parents

Over the year, we have run a series of workshops to help parents read with their children. We also gave information on the Summer SATs papers.

The workshops discussed with parents the types of books that could be read, where they could get them and the types of questions that could be asked when reading with children.

Each workshop started with a Powerpoint and adult discussion. After the adults had finished talking the children came in to either work with their parents or take part in a demonstration lesson.

If it was appropriate the parents were shown the sample test papers for that year and the tests were discussed.

There were many lively and informative conversations during these sessions and much positive feedback was given.

"Great experience. Thank you" said Adriana, a Year 1 mum.

If you think this would be useful for you - come along next year!
