Weekly Newsletter - 26/04/24

Dear Parents and Carers,

We are celebrating our second week of 95% whole school attendance! This is a fantastic achievement and really does make a difference to the wellbeing and happiness of the children. Well done everyone!

This week we have had visitors from the London Maths Hub who came to see our Mastering number sessions in action in Reception and Year 1. Our visitors were blown away by how well the children could talk about their learning using mathematical vocabulary. Next week we have a visit from Read, Write, Inc phonics and we know that they will be blown away too! Well done everyone.

Please remember that next Thursday 2nd May, school is closed to the children as we are being used as a Polling Station.

Uniform Consultation

We are due to review our school uniform policy in readiness for September. There have been a number of requests from parents and carers for the uniform policy to include bottle green polo shirts. Any changes would be phased and we would like you to share your thoughts. Please click on the link below to have your say. The form will be open until Friday 10th May. Once we have the information back we will be able to make a more informed decision. Consultation form

Smoking and Vaping- Please be reminded that smoking and vaping on the school grounds are banned. Any parents or carers who are smoking or vaping will receive a warning letter. Our Parental Code of Conduct also extends to being respectful and accommodating to our local residence and community. Please respect our neighbours and school community.

Attendance Drop in Hub
Are you having trouble getting your children into school? Come along to our Attendance Hub. We hold regular drop in sessions with our Educational Welfare Officer who offers tips and advice on how to overcome this. Our next one is Thursday 16th May at 8:50am. We look forward to seeing as many of you there as possible.

Year One visit the Book Fair.

Year 1 had the opportunity to visit the book fair on Wednesday and Thursday this week. Their excitement and enthusiasm was great to see. We were able to look through the books on display and discuss what they might be about to help us choose some titles that we might like. Many of the children were keen to share the books that they had chosen with a friend. We were very proud of how the children behaved so sensibly and took excellent care of the books especially when putting all of the books back carefully in the right places.

Well done Madagascar!

Madagascar were rewarded with extra play for filling their marble jar this week.  They voted to have that play on the KS2 gym equipment. The children also managed to take photos of each other as part of our computing lesson 'How to take a good photograph'. All the photographs on this Blog were taken by the children. Well done Madagascar what good photographers you are!
