EYFS Nature Area

During the Easter holidays we have had lots of projects carried out at Mead. One of the first was the completion of the fence around out nature pond.

Now the pupils will be able to have free access to the sensory garden area as the access to the water is controlled.

Attendance Update

As we enter the Summer term it is vital that all of our pupils are in school every day. Missing just a few days can really disadvantage your child and impact on their progress.

95% is just average... we want all of our children to have an outstanding education. You can't do that with average attendance. Job #1 for all pupils is to 'Turn up every day on time'.

Please ensure that you do all you can to ensure that we can reach the 98% attendance score for this term.

Family Cook & Eat

Havering Adult College are delivering FREE workshops and meals for families with children who are missing out on a free, hot school meal because of the holidays. As well as having something to eat, families will work together to prepare their meals, participate in arts and crafts and sit and have a meal as a family with others also attending.

If you work with other families who may be in need of a hot meal over the holidays, please let me know. (Families must be on active benefits and/or not have a full Level 2 qualification (5 GCSE grades A* - C)).

We have two dates available for the Easter break and families MUST book a place in order to attend. Places are limited.

To book a place, families must contact 01708 434955.

Get Creative Workshops

Havering Adult College is getting involved in the BBC Get Creative campaign this year and will be running over 30 creative workshops for FREE on Friday 7th, Saturday 8thand Sunday 9th April 2017.

Get Creative is about celebrating all things creative and getting people involved. With our teachers, we have developed over 30 workshops that range from art, photography, multimedia, cookery, French patisserie, family learning and so much more and all the workshops are free to all adults who would like to attend.

Please see the attached leaflet and poster for the Get Creative Weekend.

Choir Champions - Stratford Music Festival 2017

Stratford Music Festival 2017

Stratford Music Festival Performance

Congratulations to the Year 3 Recorder group won first prize for their Calypso recital, while the choir were highly commended.

Music is a real strength at Mead Primary and we are delighted to have continued the success from previous events. The music team work extremely hard to get the pupils ready for these performances and the experience of taking part in such a prestigious festival is exactly what our pupils need.
Mrs Linda Smith - Headteacher

The Stratford & East London Music Festival was founded in 1882, making it the UK’s oldest music and drama festival. It has continued to grow in popularity since that time, with entries in 2017 reaching over 1,000 in over 200 classes. Amazingly many musicians and actors can trace the start of their careers from success at the Stratford & East London Music Festival, including Jonathan Antoine, one half of ‘Jonathan and Charlotte’, who were runners-up in Britain’s Got Talent in 2012.
