Picnic In The Park 2017

Mead pupils put on their annual music festival last week to entertain parents, families and fellow pupils. Having worked hard all year in their music classes, all pupils were able to showcase the skills and confidence they have developed.

Every Year Group contributed a song and musical piece: recorders, percussion, piano  and singing. There were even some solo performances from pupils who have been taking individual lessons.

This is a wonderful way to celebrate what the children have worked so hard on throughout the year. To have such support from parents and families always makes this event extra special. Everyone performed brilliantly.
Mr Mark Gowers - Lead Music Teacher

This year was another successful one for the Mead music department. At a time where many schools are having to narrow their curriculum, Mead had maintained their investment in specialist music provision, and it is reaping benefits. The children won three different categories at the recent Stratford Music Festival, more pupils than ever before have improved their individual grades for instruments and the Choir has a waiting list!

I look going to singing lessons - we have so much fun and the teamwork is great. We have to listen carefully for our part and then sing confidently. I love my music.
Alex - Year 2

If you weren't able to attend the event, catch up with some of the performances using the videos below. We look forward to seeing you again in 2018!
